Tasmanian craftsman and furniture maker Matt Black Furniture creates some inspiring bespoke furniture and custom signage from their workshop located in Cygnet.
We're lucky to be able to showcase a few special pieces from Matt Black Furniture - table tops and vanities both made from reclaimed blackwood timber.
We cant forget to mention the Hunter Huon Valley signage, also handcrafted by Matt Black Furniture, finished with a Japanese technique called shou sugi ban to protect the timber.
An incredibly talented and passionate craftsman.

zsolt fauldi - artist, glen huon
Zsolt Fauldi is the ultimate artist creating some incredible pieces including distinctive table wear, fermentation crocks, teapots as well as custom one off pieces from his studio in Glen Huon, not too far from Hunter Huon Valley.
Zsolt has created the most stunning custom handmade basins each with an individual style in the three cabins. The basins works harmoniously with the tiles and compliment the timber vanities perfectly.
We look forward to working with Zsolt in future and continue to feature his beautiful artwork in the cabins.

nanna woo - artist, bruny island
Hanna Woolley is the creator behind Nanna Woo Handmade producing some inspiring ceramic pieces from her studio on Bruny Island.
Originally starting out in handmade resin jewellery, Hanna has evolved to creating some unique ceramics and has established her signature style creating some distinct freeform tea strainers, mugs, hand cut tiles and her guardian vases.
We are delighted to feature some of Nanna Woo tapas bowls and gorgeous textured coffee cups for guests to enjoy while they savour their morning coffee.

We Ponder is a local Tasmanian business based in Hobart working collaboratively with artist Ian Clare who handcrafts We Ponder products at his Cygnet studio.
We Ponder don’t just offer a practical lighting solution however a timeless piece of art.
We are proud to work with We Ponder as their products are a celebration of the exceptional skills and dedication of Tasmanian craftspeople. “We Ponder designs embrace the inherent imperfections of nature, creating truly unique and irreplaceable pieces that reflect the uniqueness of each individual”.
We are delighted to feature some Tasmanian handmade ceramic lighting by We Ponder at Hunter Huon Valley, that has been designed to enhance our space.

cate zayons - artist, burnie
Super talented Tasmanian potter, Cate Zayons located in Burnie, North West Tasmania is well known for her distinct style of pottery using raku clay.
Cate loves to create her signature pieces such as her little ceramic houses, ceramic garden bells, tiny birds and of course her beautiful table wear. All of these pieces are available for purchase at many boutique retailers around Tasmania or direct via Cate’s Instagram account.
As soon as we laid our eyes on Cate’s handmade raku cups with her signature textured bass straight glaze, we just knew they would be the perfect addition to Hunter Huon Valley.
When Cate isn’t busy by the kiln, she running ceramic and raku workshops from her studio.

Ella Jackson of Workbelt Leather, based in Hobart is known for her collection of Tasmanian made leather handbags, aprons and custom compendiums designed and manufactured in Tasmania.
The Ella Jackson and Workbelt labels celebrate Tasmanian craftsmanship, Italian leather, and a universal commitment to quality and style.
Ella is passionate about making ethical choices when it comes to her products and this is demonstrated through her “zero waste” collection.
We are proud to support Ella’s business and know our guests will get an immense amount of enjoyment from our compendiums.

Architects Dan Devine and Hugh Maguire understood our vision and were able to capture this through their design expertise.
Maguire + Devine Architects have many impressive completed projects in their portfolio around Tasmania and afar that inspired us, we love the ethos behind their practice and their overall sense of style.
