The story of Hunter Huon Valley.

when the universe is telling you it’s time for a change?

This is exactly how Hunter Huon Valley came to be.

After living a fast-paced lifestyle in Melbourne, we knew it was time to embark on a new adventure and set our sights on the Huon Valley in Southern Tasmania.

The Huon Valley stole our hearts with its abundance of locally grown food, wine + cider, the passionate producers and the scenic landscape.

We loved the idea of living in a rural location as this would allow us to learn to appreciate the simple things in life and ultimately live a slower paced life.

Our objective was to slow down, be present and focus on what was really important.  This is the overall philosophy of Hunter Huon Valley. We encourage our guests to switch off, lose themselves in the moment, get back to nature and take the time to have a meaningful conversation. For this very reason, there are no televisions or Wi-Fi available within the cabins.

Our vision was to create a special place for people to escape and we look forward to sharing this with you.

What we’re all about.

Three architecturally designed cabins located in Tasmania’s Huon Valley have been created with two things in mind, firstly to inspire guests to disconnect from their everyday reality and surround themselves with a space to take a deep breath. The other is to support and collaborate with local Tasmanian producers, artists, and makers.

The cabins sit on 36 acres of rugged bushland providing solitude and an opportunity to explore the private dam, natural rock formations and walking trails located on the property.

The interiors are clean, contemporary and understated with the design by Hobart based Architects Maguire + Devine showcasing the workmanship of the builder.

Many of the pieces within the cabin have been handcrafted and custom-made by local potters, furniture makers, upholsterers and creatives around Hobart and the Huon Valley to make your stay truly unique.

Guests at Hunter Huon Valley are encouraged to immerse themselves in the experience by indulging in the locally produced food and wine available during their stay, keeping warm by the wood fireplace or simply gazing up at the stars while laying in bed.

This accommodation is simple luxury at its finest.
